Medical Billing Course Description

Medical billing is a course designed to provide the student with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform multifaceted functions in a doctors office.  Knowledge of various insurance providers is emphasized along with basic techniques in billing and coding.  Basic medical terminology, anatomy and physiology are also covered in the course.

This is an accelerated course lasting 8 weeks presented in a module format.  Classes start every Monday and are held Monday through Thursday from 8am - 1pm and 1pm - 6pm.  The course is also offered in the evenings at our Riverside campus.  The evening classes are held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm - 10pm for a total of 16 weeks.  Classes are offered at our campuses in Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga, Santa Ana and Carlsbad.  Hours vary from campus to campus with Riverside having the most available hours.

The medical billing course has been fully accredited by the California State Bureau for Private Post Secondary and Vocational Education to educate persons for entry level positions in the field of Medical Administration.

Upon satisfactory completion, students will receive a certificate of competency for medical billing, medical terminology and typing.
